Welcome to The Child Development Foundation

The Child Development Foundation is a Christian non- profit organization seeking to mobilize community-based organizations on the growing issue of the Commercial Sexual Exploitation of Children (CSEC) in Belize.

The restoration of emotional and physical health to victims so that they can fulfill their developmental potentials and live in a community where they are free from re-victimization and where they receive loving, nurturing care and support.

CDF is a registered Christian non-profit social justice organization operating in Belize. The organization’s mission; is to establish a community based response in Belize to the situation of the commercial sexual exploitation of children (CSEC), by educating the public on the situation and by partnering with stakeholders, children workers, community members, and families to provide rescue, rehabilitative and training services to victims and their families as well as organizations providing care.

Children are a gift from the Lord; they are a reward from Him. Psalm 127:3

Woman From Vally of Peace: "All my life I was verbally abused by my parents. I never realize that I was verbally abusing my children the same way I was abused. Now that I am a Christian, I am realizing that God wants to free me from this. Thanks to CDF I am now aware that if I don’t show love to my children the way I should and be there for them like I should. Perpetrators may use this against them and abuse my kids. Thank you CDF for allowing God to use you as a vessel of hope. "

Woman from Esperanza Women Seminar: "I was abused when I was a child. Today I am 72 and today is the first time I have been open about what happened to me as a child. God is a God that restores. Thank you CDF. "

J. Hyde: "Many Abusers were victims of abuse at one time in their life. Abusers are human and need second chances they are hurting people who are trapped under the bondages of their past perpetrators abuser. Until they realize their need to get help from past hurt they will continually hurt others. Victims of abuse are highly insecure and don’t know how to receive or show love or affection. Therefore they are more likely to be vulnerable and majority of the time end up getting back in abusive relationship and promiscuous life style. They are physical and social ways of helping victims of abuse but Spiritual need is even greater. Thanks to CDF my eyes have been open to sexual abuse and exploitation. We need to do another Men Seminar like this again. "

Anita: "Children are one third of our population and all of our future. CDF has so far been a great experience. It’s a mandate to assisting those who are and have been victims of CSEC and TIPS.
